Sitatunga is committed to achieving the goal of Zero Harm, which aims to ensure that all workers return home to their loved ones from work safe, unharmed and healthy every day.

We adhere to the highest Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act. We are committed to ensuring the prevention of injuries and ill health of employees and are invested in our employees’ health and well-being. Sitatunga is a safety-focused mining company that continuously seeks to improve reporting of, and learning from, high potential incidents (HPIs) as a means to improve safety performance at the mine.

We hold compulsory daily (Tool Box Talks), Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) meetings and monthly Safety Committee meetings (Health, Safety, Security, Community and Environmental) evaluations of safety performance, paying razor-sharp attention to the safety of our employees to motivate them to work safely at all times. This is extremely important to prevent work-related injuries from occurring.

At Sitatunga we believe that all occupational illnesses and injuries are preventable. We aim to minimise exposure to health hazards by having in place impeccable health and safety controls. Our standards surpass just basic legal compliance.

Attaining the goal of Zero Harm is our top priority.
