Sitatunga Resources is an exploration and mining company based in South Africa. 

With active investment company Menar as its largest shareholder, Sitatunga is uniquely positioned to take advantage of opportunities in the Manganese sector.

Sitatunga’s first mining operation, East Manganese, located in the Hotazel town of the Northern Cape, mined its first ore in September 2021. This was three years after Sitatunga signed a deal to purchase the open-cast greenfield project from Southern Ambition. 

Manganese is used mostly in steel manufacturing and other industrial applications. Sitatunga believes the market fundamentals over the medium to long term would be positive for the resource due to global decarbonisation and post-Covid economic recovery trends. South Africa holds the majority of the world’s manganese resources. Sitatunga is leveraging the expertise of Menar in South Africa to build a Manganese business.
